TagMix Triples Audience Reach at Independent Venue Week

What a week!

The application of TagMix technology in five venues at this year’s Independent Venue Week yielded a significant amplification in online engagement. The analysis has landed, reporting that all five venues, along with 20 of the 28 artists, posted and shared TagMix clips of their live performances on their social media channels, more than tripling the audience.

Sybil Bell, Founder of Independent Venue Week comments: “We were excited to work with TagMix for Independent Venue Week’s 10th anniversary this year. With more venues than ever taking part and some really amazing shows across the week, having the ability to tag professional quality audio on to gig-goers' social media posts allowed many great moments to be captured for artists and venues, as well as for music fans. Creating memories of this quality for the future enriches the whole gig-going experience for everyone involved.”

Extending its support for grassroots music in collaboration with Independent Venue Week (IVW), TagMix was deployed across live performances by 28 artists at five venues at February’s IVW: The Boileroom, Ramsgate Music Hall, Bush Hall, Voodoo Daddy’s, and The Horn.

The TagMix platform automatically syncs live performance pro-audio with user-generated video clips to create great-sounding, highly sharable social content in real-time. This means bands, their PRs, venues, festivals, labels and fans can instantly share videos from their phones with TagMix high-quality audio, which has been proven to boost social reach as much as four-fold, compared to posts with ‘phone quality’ audio.

Andy Dean, TagMix Founder, enthuses: “It’s great to give up-and-coming artists and independent venues a tool to help them reach wider audiences. With most artists and all five participating venues sharing our
content during IVW, it’s wonderful to see that every segment of the live music ecosystem is benefitting from TagMix technology.

“TagMix is there to help get more people up and out to live gigs, growing the music community and ultimately supporting it to not only stay alive but thrive. These gigs were amazing and we want even more people to be enjoying grass-roots gigs every week, month, year!”

Luke Hinton, Booking and Promotion Manager at The Horn, explains:
“We were delighted to be able to use TagMix at The Horn during Independent Venue Week, the set-up of the system was really easy and the team were a pleasure to work with. We found that the artists were especially pleased with the results that it brought to their social media platforms.”

East London trio The Howlers were one of 28 live acts captured by TagMix during IVW23, having performed at Norwich venue Voodoo Daddy's as part of a four-date tour.

The band's frontman Adam Young states: “Being able to sync the sound straight from the live desk to recorded video is a game changer. We were introduced to this during our IVW23 tour and it was so interesting to experience this for the first time, listening back to audio from the evening's show that had clarity.”
